Gates RestorationNano-Ceramic Protection

How Go Nano Roof Rejuvenation Works

Go Nano is the product we use to perform roof rejuvenation. It uses nano-ceramic technology to bond to asphalt shingles at a molecular level, creating a hydrophobic barrier—a surface that water beads up on and rolls off of rather than being absorbed.

Moisture absorption is one of the primary drivers of shingle aging. As asphalt shingles absorb water, they expand and contract with temperature cycles—causing cracking, granule loss, and accelerated degradation. Go Nano addresses this at the source.

The treatment also provides UV protection, helping slow the oxidation process that causes shingles to become brittle and lose flexibility over time.

Gates RestorationWhat It Treats

Go Nano Targets the Primary Causes of Premature Roof Aging

Moisture Absorption

Moisture Absorption

Creates a hydrophobic barrier that prevents water from soaking into the shingle surface—reducing the freeze-thaw damage common in Minnesota winters.

UV Degradation

UV Degradation

Slows the UV-driven oxidation that causes asphalt to become brittle, crack, and lose granules ahead of schedule.

Surface Wear

Surface Wear

Provides a protective layer that absorbs some of the everyday wear from wind-driven debris and rain impact.

Shingle Flexibility

Shingle Flexibility

Helps maintain shingle flexibility through temperature swings—reducing the cracking associated with cold-weather expansion and contraction.

Granule Retention

Granule Retention

By reducing surface degradation, the treatment helps slow the rate at which protective granules wash off aging shingles.

Biological Growth

Biological Growth

The hydrophobic surface is less hospitable to the moisture conditions that moss, algae, and lichen need to take hold.

Gates RestorationRight Fit?

Is Go Nano Right for Your Roof?

Good Candidates

  • Asphalt shingle roofs 5–15 years old
  • Structurally sound but showing early aging signs
  • Light granule loss or minor surface oxidation
  • Homeowners wanting to delay replacement
  • Roofs that have been recently cleaned and repaired

Not Appropriate For

  • Roofs with active leaks or structural damage
  • Significant shingle failure or missing shingles
  • Extensive moss or biological growth (needs cleaning first)
  • Very new roofs that don't yet need protection
  • Roofs that have already failed and need replacement

Questions About Go Nano

Go Nano uses nano-ceramic technology to bond to the shingle surface at a molecular level—creating a hydrophobic barrier that repels water rather than simply sitting on top of the surface. This results in more durable protection than traditional sealants.

Yes. Go Nano is formulated for outdoor use and is designed to be safe once cured. Our team takes care to protect surrounding plants, landscaping, and siding during application.

Go Nano works best on asphalt shingle roofs that are structurally sound but showing early signs of aging. We conduct a thorough evaluation before any application to confirm compatibility and condition.

The best way is a free evaluation from our team. Generally, roofs that are 5–15 years old, structurally intact, and showing early signs of aging (granule loss, slight surface oxidation) are the strongest candidates.
